This is my first attempt at a river scene. Much much more challenging than I expected it to be and it’s not entirely come off quite right. There are sections of it I look at and cringe at but this is because it didn’t end up how I really wanted it to. I guess still water will be one of those things I just have to work hard at to level up on.
Painting waves at the beach is much more easy in comparison – those are blue, green, and yellow, in varying amounts, but freshwater is about reflections and seeing things underwater and it’s much harder to make decisions on what to do.
This was based on a photo that was taken up near Buchan last time I went camping, in December. I quite liked the scummy bit near the reeds.
